That’s A Very Expensive Gift You’re Holding

the great commissionJesus didn’t come to earth to mess around. His mission was to live as a model and provide a way for us to enjoy a  relationship with God forever. Everything He did was to show us the way. He preached the kingdom of God, then He put it in our hands.

We have it all–all the power and all the authority to live as Jesus lived so we could change the world. What is the kingdom of God? For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Rom 14:17) Our righteous lives should affect everyone around us. Humility, peace, joy, kindness should flow naturally through His Spirit.

We have been commissioned to do what Jesus did. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. (Matt 28:19-20) Not some of us–all of us.

God put the kingdom into your hands. Will you be like the servant who buried his talent because he was afraid to do anything with it? (Matt 25:25)  Or will you step out, be brave, and release what you’ve been given? Jesus died on the cross to give you the kingdom. That’s a very expensive gift you’re holding.
