Commitment That Hurts

It’s worth the obedience.

My ballet teacher used to say, “Yes, the stretching hurts, but it’s good pain!” Sometimes we have to go through hard times to get to the good times. The things that matter most to us will come with a price. I have to believe that most people will never see the promises of God fulfilled in their lives because what they want will require them to change somehow. And we all know how much we love change!

To get from here to destiny requires a transition that will probably be painful to some degree. The promise is still there, sill fresh and alive. How badly do you want it? If you really want it, you’re going to have to knuckle down and be obedient to how God wants to get you there. You probably know what that means. He’s not going to kill you (hopefully). He has a plan for your very best hopes and dreams, but it’s going to take obedience. Nobody said it would be easy. If they did, they lied. This is not a life for wimps or the entitled. That’s why the way is narrow, not everyone will do this. Everyone can, but few will. Don’t complain to God that He never answers prayer if you are not willing to walk the walk. But know this, the walk may be hard, but it leads to greater glory. Don’t look back with regret at what you never saw happen in your life.
