Always Learning, Never Doing

Use what you've been given

Don’t Hoard Your Treasure

When you go to a conference, read a great book on faith, or hear a great sermon, what do you do with everything you learned? Do you add it to your collection of resources, or do you put it to work?

The Lord showed me a picture of someone given permission to enter the treasury and take as many jewels as they wanted. The person scooped up handfuls and put them in to a pouch. Then he went away and very carefully selected gems and embedded them in jewelry, mirror frames, all kinds of things that he gave away or sold.

The message was, take the jewels, then use them. They do you no good sitting in a pouch untouched again. The tools and insights that you learn from others are meant to be acted on. Yes, you can do it. Yes, the breakthroughs and victories that you heard can be yours, but only if you use what you’ve been given.

Don’t assume that you’re not ready to do the things that you just learned. Start doing. Be aggressive with your faith. Don’t be one of those who are always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2Tim 3:7) Don’t hoard your jewels.
