Why Hardships In Life Are Worth It

hardships in lifeIt is not a sin to go through hard times. We have not been promised a rose-strewn path. Living the life of a believer is not for the faint of heart. David was a man of awesome faith and blessing. God loved him so much that he made David’s reign eternal, but David was a hunted man for years.

It’s challenging to wonder why God doesn’t divinely manage our life when we become saved so we don’t have to face hardships in life. Even Jesus suffered more than we ever will. We just have to accept that the testing of our faith produces patience and patience makes us perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (Jam 1:2-4) It’s the iron sharpening iron that wears off the rough edges and makes us better than we were.

Sometimes we bring hardships on ourselves through sin and failing to listen to God, but David did what he knew was right and still struggled against a crazy king out to kill him. When the rug gets pulled out from under you, go to God. See if there is something you need to repent of. If you don’t feel conviction, then give the situation to Him. Put it in His hands and ask for direction and grace. Keep a pure heart and you will come out the other side stronger and wiser. It may be a season He is using to build you up and draw you closer to Him. David will forever be the king of Israel because he trusted God steadfastly, and David was a man, a human, just like us.
