The Gift of Truth

Truth is a free gift.

It’s so easy to forget that we have an enemy and his greatest weapon is his ability to deceive. We don’t even notice the whispers that tell us how stupid we are, how inadequate we are, how much better other people are. So subtle. He’s very good at it.

That’s why we need to be so very close to the Holy Spirit. When we align our hearts with Him, He brings to light the lies. We begin to recognize what is true and what is false. A disturbing thought runs through our head and we see it for what it is – Ah, that’s from the devil. We can just dismiss it and move on, attack defeated.

When we walk with God, not only do we recognize the lies, we recognize the truth. We start to see all the good things God has for us, amazing, wonderful things. We don’t have to perform. We don’t have to work for His approval, we just receive. We recognize truth when we spend time in His presence. It sharpens our ears and makes our hearts sensitive to His voice. His truth sets us free.
