Awesome Is Just The Beginning

It’s all about Him, and He’s awesome.

I think the next time someone asks me, “How are you?” I’m going to say,”I’m awesome!”  Then I’m going to grab them and say, “Want me to give you some awesome, too?” Well, maybe not if it’s a job interview or something, but anyone else, look out, because I know who I carry inside me – the Son of God, holy, powerful, and full of love. He’s in me and He wants out. For the longest time I had Him locked in a back room. I’d sneak in to see Him when I came home from being out having fun somewhere. He was always so grateful to see me even when I treated Him so badly. Sometimes I forgot He was even there. When I remembered, I ran in and threw open the door and He was so happy I came back.

Eventually, I started spending more time with Him in the little back room. I sat on the floor and listened to Him tell me things. He said He’d wanted to tell me things for a long time, but I never came to listen. I started to feel badly that I had Him locked up, so I unlocked the door and asked Him to come into the rest of the house. He said He appreciated the greater freedom but wondered if He could go with me when I went out. I said no, I didn’t think so, so He had a seat in the living room and waited for me to come home again. I got used to seeing Him smiling at me when I came home and missed Him when I left, so I finally asked Him to come with me. He loves it! He even has the best ideas of where to go and what to do. He’s really a lot more fun than I gave Him credit for. Now I follow Him and He has to tell me to catch up. What a life, it’s just awesome!
