Is Prosperity Good Or Bad?

what ever he does shall prosperProsperity gets a bad wrap in the Christian church. Some believe that as Christians, we should expect prosperity. Other think it’s selfish to make that assumption and harmful to those who don’t experience it.

I think that God likes to prosper us. God blessed Issac. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous. (Gen 26:13) John says, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3Jhn 1:2)

I believe that blessing us to the point of prosperity is an natural byproduct of an intimate relationship with God. It is His nature to bless in abundance and when we run into His arms, the automatic result is to be blessed.

The issues come when we expect the blessing without the intimacy, when we value the gifts over the Giver. There’s real danger there. We have to cultivate a heart of thanfulness and humility.

Turn your eyes to the Jesus. Come before His throne with singing and His gates with praise. Let Him fill you with His joy and goodness. The blessing and prosperity will flow from your heart of worship.
