The Higher Road, Not The Easy Road

The higher ground takes all you’ve got.

All noble things are difficult – Oswald Chambers. No one said it was going to be easy. That’s why few go through the narrow gate. It’s easy to beat yourself up if you look at your life and see disappointment at what you think you should have accomplished. If you compare yourself to someone else who seems to have it all working right, you’ll feel even worse. And then the bottom can drop out of your world and you wish you could just disappear. You’re not alone, we’ve all been there.

Just stand your ground. Do the right thing. Take Jesus at His word, He will take care of you, but that comes with a cost – your whole life. It’s the most difficult thing to do in the world. Sometimes you just have to muscle through it until joy comes in the morning. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. (Ps 138:8) He will work it all out if we practice patience, and who doesn’t love that! Everyday is not going to be happy, but it can be full of faith. Keep your eyes on Him and what He’s promised and keep going. Every step makes you stronger and better able to handle what once almost killed you. Ask for help. You’re not alone.
