The Secret Power Of Thank You

Thankfulness takes away ego.

Saying thank you can save your life. Ten lepers were healed but one came back to thank Jesus. So Jesus answered and said, Were there not ten cleansed? Then he said to the one who returned, Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well. (Luk 17:17-19)

The ten were healed–katharizō, meaning cleansed, but the word Jesus used for the one who returned was sozo, meaning healed and saved–saved from destruction. The thankful man not only received healing, he received salvation. The others, happy to be clean again, apparently died in their sins.

There is humility in thanking. It takes us to a place where we have to acknowledge the someone else has helped us. It makes us step down from our lofty position of power and ego. To thank with a grateful heart is to show a part of yourself that God wants us to show, the part that says we need each other

Never miss an opportunity to thank people. It honors them for what they do and it brings you closer to the One who deserves every thanks.
