When Does God Need Your Help?

prayersIf God made heaven and earth, does He really need us to do anything? You’d think He could manage anything He wanted to. The answer is yes and no.
For some reason, God made the decision to use us to reach out to the world. Jesus said, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. (Mat 28:19-20) We are therefore commissioned to act as His agents to release the kingdom of God to a world in need.

But there is a point when we need to get out of the way. We are to speak in His name, but humbly. The power to heal, bless, and deliver comes straight from God. It’s not our great prayers that change anything, it’s the power of the Holy Spirit. When we work at any type of ministry, we need to be very careful that we don’t step in front of God and work from our own efforts and not allow Him to do what He wants.

Learning be obedient and then trust that God will move comes from spending intimate time with Him. When you learn to move in that realm, awesomeness ensues.
