Finding Jesus Will Change Your Life

about salvationZacchaeus was a short man, but he wanted to see who Jesus was. (Luk 19:10) The crowd also wanted to see who Jesus was, so they blocked his view. Zacchaeus wasn’t an idiot. He climbed a tree. And that action, which no one else did, brought salvation to his house.

Zacchaeus wasn’t just a tax collector, he was a chief tax collector. Which means he was probably more ruthless than his underlings. But when he wanted to see who Jesus was, he was faced with the love of God that changed his life.

Do not sit back and listen to what other people have to say about Jesus. Do what Zacchaeus did, see Him for yourself. The kingdom of God doesn’t come by hearing, it comes by doing. The fullness of what we have in Christ is in knowing Him. Read the word. Find this God who died for you. Talk to Him. He loves to talk back. Go further than mental assent. Send your heart out where analytic thinking fears to go.

Jesus is asking for your life. Yes, your life. If you want to live, you must give Him your life. Zaccheaus lost nothing by giving himself to Jesus. In fact, he gained everything.
