Choose To Be Thristy

seek godLove is a choice, and choosing to love God is the best choice you will ever make.  Once you understand God’s great plan to bring us into a relationship with Him, it will open the doors of heaven to you. From the very foundations of the earth, He has wooed us to Himself. He gave us everything we need to live in joy and peace. We just have to want it.

David understood. O God, you are my God. Early will I seek you. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. (Ps 63:1) That kind of love drew David in to the very heart of God–so close that God said, My servant David will be their prince forever. (Ezek 37:25) That’s the kind of  relationship God wants to have with us. He made David an example of what we can be.

It’s a choice to want God like that. It’s a choice to spend intimate time with Him everyday to listen to His voice and feel His goodness. But when you do, you will want more.  It’s like nibbling a great dessert and realizing how good it is. You want to eat yours and everyone else’s, everyday.

Then God promises to be what we are thirsty for. For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring. (Isa 44:3) When we choose to be thirsty for more, He promises to pour out His Spirit on us, so much so that even our children will be blessed.
