There’s Nothing Fussy About Prayer

Prayer is just a conversation with God.

Prayer is just a conversation with God.

Praying to God does not have to be a formal affair. After all, we’re family. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Gal 3:26) And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba Father. (Gal 4:6) Abba means Daddy!

We have a unique relationship with God, our Abba. We can go boldly to the throne room of grace and talk to Him any time we want. Our prayer to Him is the conversation of our heart. It is as natural as talking to our best friend. Prayer is only talking to God.

Abba wants to hear from you. He wants to know what’s on your heart, what worries you, and what you want to ask Him for. Never hide behind formality. Abba loves you so much more than you understand. Go to him as a little child and sit and talk. It warms His heart when you do.

Prayer never has to be complicated or structured. It is easy and intimate. It can be a panicked call for help, or it can be a night long love letter. Just talk to Him. And after you talk, stop and listen. He wants to talk to you even more than you want to talk to Him.
