There used to be a commercial on TV many years ago for a company I don’t remember. What I do remember is that some guy named Bob got special treatment everywhere he went. Even on the freeway, there was a special lane just for Bob. You know what that’s called in heaven? Favor.
Favor is special treatment just for you, because you belong to the Most High. It’s nepotism at it’s best. The favor of God lifts your resume to the top of the pile, opens finances that are usually unavailable, and blesses you in unexpected places.
But favor is not automatic. You have to do some homework first.
Wisdom says, For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. (Prv 8:35)
He who earnestly seeks good finds favor. (Prv 11:27)
Good understanding gains favor. (Prv 13:15)
The king’s favor is toward a wise servant. (Prv 14:9)
I’m seeing a pattern here. There’s something about seeking the wisdom of God and doing good. God was so impressed with Solomon for asking for wisdom instead of wealth and long life, that God gave him wealth and long life.
Ask God for wisdom. Ask Him to help you do good. He will. That’s why He put His Spirit in you. He’s given you the keys to favor. All you have to do is ask and walk it out.
