It’s not hard to look at ourselves and find fear. Sometimes it’s called nervousness. Sometimes it’s called panic. What ever we call it, it doesn’t belong in our lives. We are told 62 times, Do not fear, or Fear not. I think He means it. If you can identify fear in your life, you may have to be like David and have a little talk with yourself. Why are you cast down, o my soul? You have to remind yourself of who you are. If you are Christ’s, then all that He has is yours.
1John 4:18 says it best: There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. Snuggle up to the love of God. Let it cover you like a warm blanket. Remember His promises. He’ll never leave you. No one can take you out of His hand. All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom 8:28) Trust God to work it out for you, with you, in you. He’s much better at it than you are. Do a trust fall into His arms and let fear take a hike.
