I have a dear friend battling cancer. He’s beaten it once, and now it’s coming back again. This is unacceptable. I refuse to stand by and watch someone I care about be ravaged by disease. We’re going to war.

On the way home from getting prayer at a local healing room, he mentioned that the list of side-effects from the chemo he’ll be taking is too depressing to even look at . Then I realized a flaw in the enemy’s strategy. Fear only works to kill, steal, and destroy when you let it. I told him to take the list of bad side-effects and write down the opposite next to it. If a side-effect is fatigue, then write down energy. For loss of appetite,  great appetite, etc.

We agreed together that he will go into this round of chemo armed with the power of positive proclamation, using the authority of the blood of Christ, so that he will be shielded from every bad effect the enemy had planned. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Pvb 15:4) If there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things. (Phl 4:8)

There is strategy in speaking out and meditating on the good things that we want God to move in. There is no enemy defense against it.
