Have you ever had those days where you had to be reminded to have fun? I went through a season where God kept telling me to play. At first I was confused because I thought I was having fun, but I guess I was still too caught up in what ever I was supposed to be doing. Doodle days are a great reminder that we can be a little too righteous for our own good. A relaxed playful attitude allows us to really feel joy. Joy is a huge commodity of heaven. Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him. God values it like love and grace. In Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Ps.16:11) I’ll have some of that. It’s hard to be arrogant when you are filled with the fullness of joy, and that’s a lot of joy. Happiest happy. In fact, I think we’re supposed to have doodle days everyday, even when there’s a ton of work to do. It just gets done so much easier. I’m not sure I’ve ever been filled with the fullness of joy, but I’ll take as much as I can manage today and even more tomorrow.
