There are two things on my wish list. Don’t get me wrong, I have other things that I am believing for, many things. But when I go to the throne of God, I have two things that I ask for above everything else – love and wisdom.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. (ICorĀ 13:1) Without love, how can I bless my enemies? How can I prefer others and step aside in humility? How can I walk the extra mile and give to the homeless instead of buying the latte? I need love in my life to live the way Jesus has called me to live. More importantly, I need His love in my life. I need His divine touch to extend my natural love that centers on my own desires. I want the love that is patient and kind and forgiving. I want to love like He loves.
And I want wisdom. Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? (Prov 8:1) Wisdom stands on the street corner and yells, Someone find me! To the knowledge of the mystery of God, both the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(Col 2:2-3) There are treasures hidden in the wisdom and knowledge of God. Not hidden because we’re not supposed to have them, but we’re supposed to find them, and that takes us closer to His heart. I want that. I really want that.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Ps 37:4) How much more will He bless when we want what He wants?
You are awesome, Diana, and your heart reflects it. Thanks for the post and the reminder. May God honor your heart’s cry and bless you with your answers. We miss ya!
Hi Erick! You are a wonderful encourager. Give everyone hugs for me.
Will do! Any new kids stories coming along? Also, I thought about it after I posted the first comment, I know you love the stars and astronomy. You might be blessed by the series I started posting in my blog called “The Heavens Declare”. The blog link is: http://erickreinstedt.blogspot.com/
You can scroll down to Part 1 (sometime last week). It is some pretty stunning stuff! Our God is truly awesome! God bless you and all you do. We hope to see you soon.
Great posts, Erick. No no kids books, but I’m finishing up an adult novel. My goal is to get it finished this summer.
