The church has for centuries been divided by theology. Everyone knows their own truth and looks with suspicion on everyone else. Deep down, there may still may be some doubt about whose truth is real. It’s a shame, because that suspicion and doubt divides us when we should be united.
How do you know who to believe? Believe God. When we receive salvation and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, He puts His truth inside us. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you. (1Jhn 2:27)
You don’t need to go to seminary to learn about God. You don’t need special teaching from the top Bible scholars. You need your Bible and an open heart to hear Him. That does not mean that you don’t need to fellowship with other Christians. You need to hear their triumphs and disappointments so you can be encouraged and pray together. You need them to confirm your own insights.
Don’t allow others to mislead you. Go to God in prayer, read the Word, and listen in your heart. He is giving you truth even now, you just need to hear it. Let Him teach you. There are wonderful truths to learn that will change your life.
