It’s so easy to be busy. It’s so easy to turn to all the things that need to be done and forget the Lord. Not only does our old nature keep trying to resurrect itself (I die daily. ICor 15:31), but we have an enemy who is forever trying to lure us away from God. Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matt 7:14) It’s not easy being obedient.
One way to keep yourself in His grace is to bless Him daily. It’s not hard to do because He’s always so good to us. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation. (Ps 68:19) The promises of God are true. You can believe everything He says He will do. Pick one and thank Him for it. Bless His name because He is good.
By being in the habit of blessing and thanking God daily, you develop a character of thankfulness and that makes Him happy. When you are thankful, you allow Him to bless you even more.
The gate is narrow, but once you understand His ways, the walk is joyful. Make time everyday to bless Him. Figure out how to do that and don’t stop. Make it a life habit, not out of routine, but out of love. It will change your life.
