Are you alone in your hunger for God? What if your church doesn’t agree with your need to hear the Holy Spirit? What if your friends or family don’t agree with it? That’s a hard place to be. Ideally, you want support, guidance, mentoring in your growth. Maybe you’re in a place where that’s just not possible. You have to be strong. You have to go after what you know you need to go after.
Listen to Me, you who go after righteousness, you who seek the Lord…Look to Abraham your father…for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. (Is 51:1-2) Abraham had no one supporting his call to follow God, and God blessed his obedience. God is saying to pay attention to that. Pay attention to what He did when someone followed Him, alone. Abraham was increased and blessed. Yes, I absolutely agree that we need to “assemble together”, so you should try to join with others that agree with what God is calling you into. But if you can’t, don’t wimp out. Be the one that God blesses and increases. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, let Him take care of the rest.
