Being Faithful In The Simple Things

Being faithful in the simple things

Some time ago, a friend told me how convicted she got while driving over the speed limit. At first I thought, Well, that’s for you. But God told her to be faithful in the small things. If He can’t trust us with the small things, how can He trust us with big things? That got me. I’ve been careful with my driving ever since.

But I’ve noticed how careless Christians can be with the small things. Driving while talking with a handheld phone or texting is illegal where I live, but everyone does it. Copyright laws are broken routinely, especially if it’s for something “good”.

Jesus said, Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. (Mat 22:21) We are told, Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. (Rom 13:1)

We are to honor those in authority and honor the law. If the law is unjust, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in how to act, otherwise you are expected to be lawful. Christians are not above the law.

If you want to see more breakthrough in your life, be diligent in the small things. Live with honorable intention and God will bless that.
