The wonder of knowing God is understanding that we are made in His image. That means far more than looking like the people that we are. God spoke the worlds into existence. He gave a part of that spoken power to us. It’s a fearful realization.
The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) He put those words into us, so we have the same power to speak life. The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. (Mat 8:8) We have the authority to speak healing. And what we speak affects our own health. But the tongue of the wise promotes health. (Prov 12:18) Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Prov 18:21)
We are wholly and completely responsible for everything we say because there is so much power to our words. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.(Mat 12:37) But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.(Mat 12:36) We justify jokes, gossip, and anger, but God does not. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Mat 12:34) Can you imagine a world where the power of our words promote life and health? Guard your tongue and use your powers for good and not evil.
