Are you peculiar? It’s okay to be. In fact, it is required of you. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1Pet 2:9)
If you have given your heart to Jesus, you belong to Him. You are one of His peculiar people. You can’t carry on like you are not. If your relationship with Him is scheduled to Bible studies, Sunday morning, and saying grace at dinner, then you have no relationship with Him at all. To be peculiar, a holy nation, means that you understand your place in His royal household. Your thought life revolves around the goodness of God and what He is doing. You are called to be holy, all day, every day.
You have to allow yourself to be convicted of the things that prevent holiness from shining in you. You have to embrace all the wonderful gifts of His spirit that change you from glory to glory. Delight yourself in His presence. Soak in deep thoughts of who He is. Look around for signs that He is blessing and working in your life. God has made you holy through the blood of Christ. Living from that mindset draws you closer to the heart of God and wonderful things will come from that.
