Salvation is not about being saved. Yes, there is an element of being saved from death in the very name, but salvation is so much more. It is entering into a relationship with the God who made us. It is knowing Him as a friend and helper. But it is even more than that.
We are not meant to enter the kingdom of God to sit and sing nice songs about heaven. Jesus said, Behold, I give you all the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall hurt you. (Lk 10:19) We’ve got work to do.
We’ve been given the keys of authority to destroy the works of the enemy. And as long as there are people suffering from the ravages of sin, we are responsible for using that authority to help them. Many people have been given the keys but refuse to use them. They want God to do everything, but God put it in our hands to do.
Everything that Jesus did, He did to model for us. Go back and look at what He did. Now you have your marching orders. Next time, I’ll talk about how to pick up those keys and put them to use.
