Is God Teasing Us?

Does God have a plan for all the galaxies?

Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. Is 9:7

I’m not sure what that means. I get that His peace can continue to grow through eternity because peace is an aspect of His nature that we will continue to explore and understand forever. But His government? His government is His kingdom. How will His kingdom continue to increase after He calls His bride home? We won’t be growing families in heaven like we do on earth, so it won’t increase that way. Will His kingdom increase throughout worlds without end? Are there other people that He will draw into His kingdom that we don’t know about? There’s so much that we can’t and won’t understand this side of eternity. I think He’s just teasing us with little snippets of heaven to make us want to know more. I definitely want to know more. His picture is so much bigger than mine and I want to see it all. Any thoughts?

Sometimes Faith Is Hard

Headache means faith is not working.

Sometimes I am my own worst enemy. I have learned to sabotage myself so well that I don’t even know I’m doing it until my body screams at me to get my attention. But why? I trust God. I do. I believe that He has all the answers that I need. Sometimes I run into a decision that causes a knee jerk reaction to panic, but on a level so deep I don’t recognize it. On the surface, I say I’m trusting God, but deep down, tension is building because I am trying to work it all out on my own. Not until my head explodes do I see what is going on. I’m so sorry. I repent for my lack of faith, for not really listening to what God is trying to tell me. And guess what? When I do stop and listen, He actually does have the answer I was looking for. So why, why do I put myself through that? Partly because we have an enemy that excels at warfare, and partly because I am still growing in faith. It will get better. I will trust Him more and have fewer headaches. Thank you God for your patience with me.

Quit Messing Around

And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jer. 29:13.

God is not after part-time supporters. He’s not interested in Sunday believers. He wants all your heart, everyday. It’s not enough to stumble over a blessing and think how nice the Lord is. He wants you searching for Him, reaching for Him, thirsty and hungry. He wants you to realize that you have a gaping God-size hole in your spirit that He wants to fill. But He will only do that when you go after Him tooth and claw. The violent take it by force. How much of your heart are you searching with? How much do you want Him? When you race after Him, fearless and determined, He will be found. You’ll run smack into Him. And it will be a collision of awesomeness. What ever you’re holding onto that keeps you from going after Him with everything you’ve got, throw it down now and reach up with both hands. Go after Him. Go!

God’s Thoughts, Your Promise

God has amazing plans for you.

In God, you have a future and a hope.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer. 29:11. When God has thoughts about you, they are actually promises for your life. He’s planning a path for you to have a future and a hope. His thoughts are not wishful thinking, they are true. He’s not up in heaven looking at all your mistakes and keeping track of all  your failures, He’s thinking of ways to draw you close to Him. He thinks the best things for you.

The scripture says He’s thinking thoughts toward you. Those thoughts are a moveable force, an energy wave that can cast aside all the plans of the enemy to change your circumstances for your good. His thoughts toward you are powerful promises to save you and bless you. Quiet your spirit and ask God what He’s thinking. What ever you hear will change your life.

When Dreams Come True

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose. Psalms 20:4
When I think about how wildly awesome God is, I love Him more. He wants to give me my heart’s desire. He wants to make my dreams come true. Not only does He want to guard and protect me, He wants me to be my perfect me. He wants me to fulfill my destiny, completely. He knows what’s important to me and He knows what will bless me. He knows what will help me grow and He knows all my favorite things. The closer I get to Him, the more He blesses me. He is my God, and He always will be.

When Is It Ok To Quit?

How long have you been praying about that loved one to be saved, a new job, health? Six months? Two years? Fifteen years? How long do you keep asking? If it hasn’t happened by now, will it ever? Who will you listen to Job or Job’s wife? Job’s wife told him to give it up already. All she saw was the evil that came into Job’s life and it didn’t look like any changes were coming. But Job was a man made of different stuff. He knew God. He knew that God could and should be trusted, despite the circumstances. You haven’t seen your breakthrough yet, but that doesn’t mean that God shouldn’t be trusted. If you can’t trust Him, what can you trust in? Don’t stop believing. You may be discouraged, that’s normal, but don’t stop believing. The waiting will be worth it. The answer will be more than you asked for because you believed for so long. How serious are you about seeing it happen?

What Is A Prophetic Word? Part Three

Now that you have your list of promises, read it like it’s a letter from God. These are things He wants to do for you. Claim them as promises. Remind God that He promised. If you get a word that you brush aside, or never believe, chances are great that you never will see it fulfilled. God’s promises are true. You can trust them. But you need to give life to them by believing them and expecting them to happen. I get excited every time I read through my list. I can’t wait to see these things start to happen. They may not happen for years, but I’m still excited and I thank God all the time for what He’s promised. He’s so generous because He wants to be real in my life. And the more I believe Him for, the more He’ll do for me, in me, and through me.

What Is A Prophetic Word? Part Two

When ever you get a prophetic word, write it down immediately so you don’t forget any part of it. If you can record it even better. If you do record it, transcribe it. There’s something about hearing, writing, and seeing it that helps you understand it better. Pull out the key words and phrases and list them. Then group them by subject. I date them as well. By grouping the key words together, you can see how God has repeatedly given you the same promise over time. If you’ve had several prophetic words over the years, you’ll have an astonishing list of promises that will bring a smile to your face every time you read it. Ok, so I have my list, now what?

What Is A Prophetic Word? Part One

We know that God talks to us all the time. It’s His desire to see you mature and fully equipped to be who you were meant to be. Sometimes He uses other people to help you along the way. 1 Corinthians 14 talks about the need and relevance of prophecy in the church. God can speak to other people who can give you His thoughts about you. It is truly amazing to hear how loving and generous He is. Humbling, in fact. You may be tempted to not believe it. That would be the enemy trying to rob you of blessing. Dismiss it. Even if the word is beyond the scope of your reality, receive it and hold on to it. In the next part, I’ll talk about what to do with it.

How Do You Pray To A Trinity? Part Five

In then end, it really doesn’t matter who you pray to, as long as you have an open relationship with all parts of the Godhead. You may very well feel drawn to one part over the others, and that’s ok. It’s because of who you are and how you’ve been made. I think it’s very handy of God to be multiple versions of Himself to fit our different needs. There may be season where you need to discover the real Jesus in your life, and later get to know your Father or Comforter. You can never learn it all. As long as you want to know Him more, He’ll show you more, from now through eternity.
