We are a skeptical people. We believe that God is great, but only slightly greater than us. We pray for provision and safety or hope to get a job or money to pay the bills, but only just. We assume He only wants to help us get by. We put limits on what we expect He will do.
And He said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. (Jhn 21:5)
The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season, and to bless the work of your hands. (Deut 28:12)
The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. (Deut 30:9)
He wants to make you abound in the work of your hand. He wants to open up the treasures of heaven for you. Why don’t we see that happening? Because we don’t expect Him to.
We look around at everyone else and assume that the best we see around us is as good as it gets. We satisfy ourselves with mediocre. God wants so much more for us.
The blessing flows when we pour ourselves into Him, when we love Him above all things. It’s in the relationship with Him that we get the ideas and creativity to do what no one around us has done before.
Don’t let other people limit what God wants to do for you. There is no limit with Him. He is a God of abundance and increase. Find out what His good treasure is and your work will blessed.
