Righteousness Protects Your Heart

The breastplate of righteousness covers your heart. That’s were all your motivation comes from. Will you act honorably or will you act through your old sinful nature? Righteousness is about doing the right thing.

If you continue to behave the way you did before knowing Jesus, then you haven’t met Jesus.

what is righteousness

what is righteousness

When we confess our sin and receive Jesus in our heart, we are renewed in our minds. We are led to live righteously. Conviction pricks our heart when we do something we know is wrong.

That is the breastplate of righteousness. It’s the voice of God, the small voice that whispers to us when we sin. If we continue to sin, regardless of what we know to be right or wrong, then we stop hearing God as clearly as we did before. We begin to miss His direction that tells us what is safe and what is not.

Righteousness is the result of our decisions and how we act. Is your breastplate shiny or dull? Do not let sin tarnish what should be bright and beautiful. Allow the Holy Spirit to point to areas you need to confess. The shinier you make your breastplate, the better you will hear God, and your armor will keep you safe.
