Who Is Jesus? Part 3

Jesus prayerOnce you understand that Jesus is the Son of God and part of God, the realization of what He did becomes mind-boggling. You begin to realize that the sole purpose of creating earth in the first place was so that we could live with God in His kingdom. To appreciate what Jesus did for us, we have to understand how much God loves us.

That God so loved the world that He sent His only Son must become real to us. We will never enter into the relationship He has called us to until we really understand His love. Jesus didn’t come to live and suffer on earth because He was talked into it. He came out of a love that goes beyond anything we experience loving people.

When sin separated us from God, it broke His heart. Jesus came as our salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (Jhn 14:6) He allowed Himself to be sacrificed for our sins, because sin must have a sacrifice to cover it. He did it once and for all. No more need for blood. Our sins are covered when we confess and ask for forgiveness.

Jesus is our Savior, our Brother, our close and intimate Friend. His death on the cross is the greatest love story of all time. He is amazing, wonderful, and glorious. His life is our model. He came to show us how to live and love.

You find Jesus by asking Him to live in your heart. You get to know Him by reading the Gospels. Read them carefully. Study what He meant in His teaching. If you don’t understand it, ask Him to explain. If He lives in you, you can talk to Him. He is the way into the kingdom of God, the place you were born for.
