Our salvation can sometimes look like this:
Her: Hey, I didn’t know you had a salvation phone.
Him: Oh yeah, I’ve had it for years.
Her: Cool. Can I see it?
Him: Sure, check it out.
Her: Um, you’ve got thousands of incoming calls you never answered.
Him: What? How do you know that?
Her: See? Your In-box. Oh, no wonder. You had the ringer off. Hey, look at all the apps you never even opened!
Him: What apps?
Her: Look – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control.
Him: I didn’t know I had those.
Her: Yeah, they came with the phone. Look, here’s a really good folder to open, healing!
Him: Healing? That’s on my phone?
Her: Oh yeah. And this one, prophecy. That’s my favorite.
Him: Prophecy! How do I get that off my phone!
Her: Why? Paul said you should pursue spiritual gifts, especially prophecy. Trust me, get the ringer turned on and prophecy will be awesome.
Him: As long as there’s no speaking in tongues.
Her: Oh, here’s that app. That’s a good one too. It builds up your spirit, like power exercising your faith. I’ll move that to your front page for you.
Him: (Staring at his phone) I had no idea all that stuff was on there.
Her: Dude, you’ve just been carrying it around all this time and not using any of it. Get into your phone, man. It’s awesome. And be sure to hold onto it. Put it in your pocket close to your heart. You want to keep it safe.
Him: I will, thanks. Is there anything else on here that I didn’t know about?
Her: Tons! You’ve been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Eph 1:3) Start checking out your phone. Open folders. Play with the apps. There’s a lot more that you won’t find until you get in deeper. It’s such a great phone!
