God Is The Greater Power

The word of God is a powerful weapon.

God within you is always more powerful than the enemy

Satan is not the opposite of God. Satan and God are not diametrically opposite powers. That implies that both have equal powers, and that is not the case. Satan is a created being and God is the one who created him. Satan’s powers are limited, and God’s powers are endless. Don’t assume anything different.

Satan’s huge weapon is deceit. Without real power, he can only use guile to gain advantage. If he can convince us to stop believing the truth of God, then he wins. But his weapon is all cloud and vapor. There is no substance to it.

When we walk in the truth of God, we carry the power that created the worlds without end. The enemy has no power to create life, while Jesus resurrected from the dead. Prayer can cast down strongholds. Those strongholds are not as powerful as you think they are. They are not more powerful than the word of God.

Strongholds are the areas of strong resistance that you keep butting up against in the spirit. Declare the name of Jesus and tell them to leave. Cast them down and they will be cast down. Don’t  be flippant about it. Soak yourself in the presence of God, and take enemy ground for the kingdom. If you believe in the word of God, then you are armed for warfare.

Pray For Your Leaders And Change A Nation

Prayer is a powerful tool to change a leader's heart.

Pray for your leaders and change a nation.

Do you want to see the kingdom of God released in your country? Then pray for your leaders. They are the targets of enemy attack. If the leader can be persuaded to believe deception, then the country cannot be blessed with the guidance of God.

Pray that the scales of deception fall from the eyes of those in power. Let them have eyes that see and ears that hear so they understand the will and the ways of God. Ask that they be filled with the wisdom of God and revelation from heaven. Let their hearts be moved with a hunger for truth and justice. Let them be filled with compassion for people and outrage for injustice.

Your prayers can move mountains and they can change the heart of a president, a minister, or a king. You prayers are powerful. Join with others and your prayers become magnified in power. Don’t bad mouth your leaders. Bless them and pray for them. They can be moved to do good with your support. Strongholds can fall. Lies can be exposed. The kingdom of God can be released to bless a nation.

Spend time in praise and worship so your heart can be open to know how to pray effectively. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (Jam 5:16)

Obedience In The Small Things

God blesses obedience, no matter how small.

Obey in small things to see big rewards.

Jesus told a story of a man who gave his servants each a certain amount of money to invest. One servant did nothing with the money given to him and was berated for it. In fact, his money was given to the one who made the biggest return. (Luk 19:11-27)

Do you want to see God do big things in your life? Then be obedient in the small things. Can you be honorable in all the areas of your life? Can you obey the law, even when it annoys you? Can you obey God’s word, even when no one is looking? Can you obey the small nudge to go out of your way when you don’t feel like it?

If you can’t do the small things, God cannot trust you with anything bigger. But if you can, then you can expect more than you asked for. Those servants who did invest the money given to them were made rulers over cities. That wasn’t made clear to them before their master left them.

If you can obey in the small things, God will bless you in big ways. He loves obedience over sacrifice. (Sam 15:22) Big answers require big faith, and you build faith from starting small. Be obedient in the small things and watch what happens.

The Spiritually Mature Can Hold Their Peace

Learn to hold your peace and inherit the earth.

God honors those who can hold their peace.

Have you ever heard anyone say, Hold your peace? It means to hold back from losing your temper.  When you lose your temper, you lose your peace. He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his peace. (Prv 11:12)

It’s a sign of maturity when you don’t have to say what you think all the time. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace. When he shuts his lips, he is considered. perceptive. (Prv 17:28) Says a lot doesn’t it?

The meek shall inherit the earth and live in the abundance of peace. (Ps 37:11) I have to think that it is a characteristic of a meek person to hold his tongue, regardless of being right. I think there is a lot to learn from a meek person.

If if it is not natural to hold your tongue when you have a point to win, then it will take the Spirit of God within you to change your ways. God holds a very high value to anyone who can hold their peace. If you need help, ask Him for it. If you need to be more meek, ask Him. I will. I’d like to be with the ones who inherit the earth.

The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb, Sort Of

Jesus is all that we need.

Please pass the lamb.

Years ago, I taught Sunday school to 8, 9 and 10 year-olds. I remember one of the kids, I think it was the pastor’s daughter, drew a picture of the marriage supper of the lamb. The picture was a long table with many people seated down both sides. A stick figure at the head of the table had a word bubble that said, “Please pass the lamb.”

It was funny then, but now it has great significance to me. Jesus said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. (Jhn 6:51)

That grossed a lot of people out and they left Him. What they failed to understand was that He was speaking in spiritual terms. We must consume the Lord. That is, we must take in His word, His Spirit, His presence so completely that it is like we literally eat of Him. He must be our sustenance. We must seek first His kingdom and all that we need will be supplied.

If you say, “Please pass the lamb”, you are asking for the Savior of this world to some live in you. It’s a great request to make. One that will save your life.

Is The Bible Too Hard To Read?

God gives understanding to anyone who asks.

Jesus makes it easy to read His word.

Do you read the Bible in frustration? Does it make sense to you, or are you left wondering what it’s all about? Are there stories that make you shake your head and walk away? Jesus can help you understand it.

When Jesus appeared to disciples after His resurrection, He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the scriptures. (Luk 24:45) Without a touch from God, we will never understand His word correctly. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. (1Cor 1:18)

If you have not been renewed in your mind with the mind of Christ, just ask. He makes it so incredibly simple. That’s why it seems foolish to those who don’t believe. They want ritual and sacrifice and hardship. But God said, just ask. Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. (Mat 7:7)

All you need is one prayer away. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit so you will read and understand His word. He will make sense of it for you and it will change your life if you will receive it.

Growing In Faith Helps You See Your Way

As we grow in faith, our way becomes clear.

Your path will become clear as you allow God to renew you.

God has not left us to flounder on our own. We are not meant to fail, because He’s given us everything we need to grow in grace and faith. We have His word and we have His Holy Spirit. The more we grow in faith, the easier it is to live in faith.

But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day. (Prov 4:18) As we grow in faith, we allow God to renew our mind more and more. We learn precept upon precept, line upon line. The path before us becomes even brighter and more clear.

As we allow God to convict our heart, we become sensitive to the awareness of sin. The more we confess old sinful attitudes, we grow stronger in the good attitudes of God. We may be saved by grace by our confession of faith, but the renewing of our mind takes growth and time.

Do not be discouraged if you don’t feel strong in faith. Ask God to show you what is blocking your growth. You may need to repent of something you know you’ve held onto. Ask Him to cleanse your heart and mind of anything that prevents you from knowing Him fully. Your path will become easier and clearer.

What Is The Holy Spirit’s Job?

The Holy Spirit is God inside us.

The Holy Spirit was sent to us for a reason.

There are many people who are content to believe that faith in God and acknowledging that Jesus died for our sins is all we need. That’s unfortunate, because they miss the whole point of salvation. Jesus didn’t die on the cross just so we don’t have to go to hell. He made a way for us to live in communion with God, now and forever. 2 Cor 13:14

After we receive the gift of salvation, it’s the Holy Spirit’s job to be the indwelling presence of God in our lives.

He is our Helper. He gives us revelation and knowledge when we need it. Mrk 13: 11, Luk 12:12, Jhn 14;26

He is our Comforter. Jhn 14:16, Act 10:38

He gives us all the attributes of God–love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Gal 4:22-23

To live believing in God, but without the Holy Spirit is like handicapping yourself in a race by hopping instead of running. Yes, it’s possible to get through the race that way, but you’ll exhaust yourself and more than likely won’t make it to the end.

Without the Holy Spirit convicting us of our sin and leading us, we are in great danger of deception. With Him, we have all access to the knowledge of God. As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. 2 Pet 1:3-4

If you don’t have the Holy Spirit in your life, ask God to fill you. Do it today.

Only Jesus Can Satisfy A Hungry Heart

We were created to love God.

Only Jesus can fill our heart’s great need.

We were created to love God. We were born with a God-shaped hole in our heart that only He can fill. That’s why there is religion in every culture. The need to know God is great and common to everyone. The self-sufficiency of our society that says that God is irrelevant is a lie from the enemy. The need for God is still there, it’s just being filled with experience and toys and power.

The God-shaped hole is a hunger for something more, something deeper than chasing after experiences can offer. Other religion can only offer ceremony, nothing that goes deep to the core of our need. Without Jesus, we will always feel lacking in something profound and necessary.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. (Mat 5:6) God has promised that if you look to fill that hunger with what is right and true of God, you will be satisfied. In fact, Jesus said, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (Jhn 6:35) Jesus fills that void in our heart so completely that we will never feel at a loss again.

Run to Him. Embrace His salvation, and that heat-felt loss will be satisfied beyond your expectations.

Thankfulness Opens Doors To Promise

Thankfulness opens doors to promise.

Cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

God said He would take care of all our needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Mat 6:33) Part of living righteously is having an attitude of thankfulness.

If someone gives you a hundred dollars, you would probably thank them. If you had a mother like mine, you would sit down and write a thank you card immediately. But what if you were told, you’ll get the hundred dollars later? A thankful heart would show gratitude now, before the money came.

Trusting God with all your heart, is really believing that He will be there for you when you need Him. If you know He’s taking care of you, then be grateful for what you haven’t seen yet. Thankfulness opens doors to provision. If you need a lot, imagine that big answer coming to you and thank Him with as much excitement as when you finally see it happen.

Thankfulness allows you to live joyfully because you know that God is faithful to His word and you never have to stress. When you can put your trust in Him, you can finally relax and be excited for your future, not afraid of what might happen. God is good and has your life in His hands. Thank Him for that.
