If you had the opportunity to sit down and have a chat with Jesus, what would you talk about? Assuming, of course, that it wasn’t terrifying or overwhelming. What if Jesus came in a friendly let’s-just-talk kind of way. What would you talk about?
Think about it. It would be your opportunity to ask the big questions. What do you want to know? Pretend that Jesus sent you an invitation to join Him for lunch so you could ask Him anything you wanted.
I don’t think you should feel obligated to ask about world peace, unless that’s something that you think about all the time. Maybe you want to talk about your garden or the best way to potty train your toddler. Maybe there’s a Bible story that you’ve never understood. You probably want to know about your future and what kind of life He sees for you. What are the important things that you would want answers for?
Ask Him. Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me. (Rev 3:20) If you’ve been born again, Jesus is waiting to have that conversation over lunch with you. He’s already there. All you have to do is sit down and talk with Him. He knows everything, so there’s no question He can’t answer. And that conversation never has to stop. You can ask Him anything and keep asking for ever. He’s waiting for your questions, so go on.
