Have You Figured Out Who You Are?

Be who God made you to be

Have you ever tried to figure out who you are? The question starts building somewhere around pre-adolescence and then further down the road as a an adult we decided that we are Something – a cook, a painter, an accountant, a doctor. We take on what we do as our identity and it’s a very dangerous thing to do.

What we do is temporary, our identity is not. What happens when the rug gets pulled out from under us and we can no longer be that Something? We lose yourself and it can be very devastating.

You are a …(insert man or woman) of God. Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Gal 4:7) Now that’s an identity  and it is eternal. Even if you have a profound ministry that affects people all over the world, your identity is not Great Evangelist, it is heir of God. You are of the royal household of heaven, perfect in His sight, and made holy by His righteousness.

Stop seeing yourself as what you do. Start seeing yourself as a royal heir, then nothing that happens along the way will affect your peace.
