Life and death are decisions that we make. When we choose to obey God, we live a life beyond our expectations. When we choose not to, the consequences are horrifying.
For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice. (Ps 95:7) If you will hear His voice. The choice is yours.
I love the psalmist who wrote, I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak to His people and to His saints. (Ps 85:8) God is speaking to all people, but only His saints choose to hear Him.
Hearing the voice of God requires a response from us. Just hearing Him does not ensure life and safety. There were plenty of people who heard Jesus speak in person, and still rejected Him. Listening to His voice requires obedience to His word. Only then can you know that you have chosen life and not death.
I will hear what God the Lord will speak, and I will obey His word. And when I do, He promises to bless me and keep me safe from all harm. His voice is call of love and my response is grateful thanks.
