What Is Salvation?

what salvationSalvation is not believing in God and going to church. The demons in hell believe in God, and going to church doesn’t save you any more than going to the corner deli. Jesus didn’t preach about salvation. He preached about the kingdom of God.

Salvation is not just about what you believe, because you do have to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, it’s also about how you live.

Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Blessed are those who mourn.

Blessed are the meek.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Blessed are the pure in heart.

Blessed are the peacemakers.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake.

Living in the kingdom of God requires us to be changed by Him. When we respond to Him with an almighty Yes, He puts His Spirit in us to make us into the person we are called to be. We can be humble and pure in heart when we hunger and thirst for what is right and good.

Salvation in the kingdom is a lifestyle, a change of attitude. It’s loving God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. It’s loving, really loving other people, regardless of who they are. It’s the decision that you make to live everyday with God as your best friend.
