All Things Are Possible In Faith

All things are possible with God.

Believe for impossible things.

With one touch, Jesus made what was defiled, cast aside, and corrupt healthy, blessed, and holy. If He could do that with a body racked with disease and corruption, imagine what He could do with anything in your life–relationships, jobs, poverty, hopelessness.

If Jesus could raise the dead, heal blind eyes, and cast out demons, He can renew anything in your life that is broken and lost. If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. (Mk 9:23)

Now here comes the tricky part. When you look at that impossible situation, can you believe it to be restored, fixed, or resurrected? Can you believe? You don’t have to know how it will be done, but can you believe that Jesus has the power to do it? Can you believe that the dead thing that you lost can be restored?

If you can, then you  have won. Faith is believing in what you can’t see. Faith is believing in something absolutely impossible. Faith is understanding that the realm we see with our eyes is below a higher realm of the supernatural that we can’t see. Once you realize that, you can believe for anything. Don’t be talked out of it. Hold your faith no matter what others say.

Impossible things happen all the time when Jesus touches them.

Be Humble Enough To Repent

Repentance is not a dirty word.

Repentance makes us clean.

There is so much that God can do in us when we allow ourselves to be humble. Are we willing to do anything He asks? Are there some things we just draw the line at? Why? There’s something ugly behind a refusal to be obedient in all things.

We have to be willing to be cleaned up in all the places of our heart that we have hidden. Unless we  give Jesus access to those closed doors, He can’t trust us to do the amazing things He’s called us to do. But then we fret and complain and wonder why we aren’t moving on in our lives.

Repentance is not a dirty word. It’s a scrub brush that cleans away what is sinful and foul. We usually don’t have to be told what to confess. The Holy Spirit convicts where we need to be cleaned up. And we can never be who we are meant to be until we lay open our heart and ask for help.

Cleansing our hearts is a lifelong process. Don’t ever assume that you’re done. If you’ve been there and done that, then go back. There’s probably still more. And the more you get rid of, the more room you have for blessing to fill you.

Your Words Carry Power

Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

The sound of our words carries great power.

There’s this amazing thing that happens when you explode air bubbles with sound waves underwater–light is created. Yes. Hit air bubbles under water with enough sound waves and the bubbles explode into light. There are scientific reasons for this to happen, but it proves another point. Sound effects things you don’t expect.

Jesus told us, For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mk 11:23)

God spoke and there was light, there were worlds, there was creation. Then God put His Holy Spirit in us. Where did that power go? In us. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Pv 18:21) The words that we say carry far more weight than we imagine. Speak life not death. Don’t joke around with your words. You are releasing power, and it’s never benign.

Practice speaking blessing over yourself and your family. Whenever you catch yourself saying anything negative out loud, even if it’s a joke, repent and speak the opposite. Life and death are in the power of your tongue. Choose to bless and you will change the atmosphere around you.

Jesus Is Our Real King Of Kings

Jesus is the One called Faithful and True.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True. (Rev 19:11). That is our King of Kings, our King who is called Faithful and True. We love our fairytales because of the prince who comes to rescue and bring safety, but Jesus is real. King of King, Prince of Peace, Emmanuel.

Faithful and True is the One who made us righteous so we could live in blessing and grace. Faithful and True is the One who loves us so completely that He sacrificed Himself to cover our sin. He will never leave us or forsake us. His love is eternal and transforming.

Sometimes I have to stop and contemplate the reality of Jesus. When I look around at my day to day world, it seems incredible that the heavens will open up and the One on the white horse will come to us. It will be the great and terrible day, but I belong to Him and He is mine. It is a day that will thrill my heart because we will see Him in His majesty.

My King who is Faithful and True has wooed me into His kingdom and I will never leave.

Morning Mercies And Tea

His mercies are a daily blessing.

His mercies are new every morning.

God and I have a little ritual that we play every morning. I must have my cup of tea and a bite to eat before I try to get anything done. So I have my tea and read the paper and then it happens. I never know exactly when, and because I’m intent on reading the paper, I’m not paying attention. God sends His mercies.

It hits me like a jolt of joy. I always have to stop and look up because I know what just hit me. It’s His gift to me every day and I receive it with happy thanks. I admit that there are days when so many other concerns crowd my mind that I miss it. I’m crushed when I eventually realize it, but it’s ok. The mercies are new every morning.

This gift feels like a new dress that I put on everyday, fresh with promise and sparkling with the dawn. Every day is full of hope because my God is with me. Everyday He is ever loving and faithful. I give Him my plans, my hopes and dreams, and He breathes on them.

I never have to wonder if I am His, because He sends His love to me every morning. (Lam 3:23)

You Never Have To Feel Guilty

God does not want you to feel guilty.

Confess your sins and be free.

I remember when some scripture used to make me cringe a little: Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I run away from where You are? (Ps 139:7) God sees me everywhere. What about when I do something bad? He’s watching me. I know He thinks I’m bad. That made me feel guilty. But that’s not God’s heart at all.

We don’t surprise God. He knows our humanity. He made us. And before we are redeemed, of course we’re going to do bad things. And good people without God do bad things. Even good people who do know God do bad things. He knows that. And He loves us anyway.

God’s love covers our sin. All we have to do is repent. It’s that easy. Confess it. Give it to Jesus. Ask Him to help you be who He wants you to be. If it happens again, confess it again. It won’t do to carry on with a sinful lifestyle because all you have to do is confess your sin and go back to do it again. True confession is a conviction to want to change.

Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and give you new thoughts. Let go of guilt. Once you give it to Jesus, it’s not yours anymore. You are free.

  • Staying in Step with God

The Word Of God Can Clean Us Up

Meditate on the word.

The word of God is powerful to change.

What do you do when you know you need to clean up your life, but you don’t know how? It’s not easy to become another person. I’m not sure it’s possible without God. The Bible asks a straight forward question: How can a young man cleanse his way? (Ps 119:9) Immediately we find out. By taking head according to Your word.

When we come to salvation through Christ, we walk by faith, not by sight. How do we develop faith? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17) We need to get the word into our heart. God’s word is alive and active. It’s powerful to change.

Keep reading Psalms 119: I will meditate on Your precepts and contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in your statues. (v 15-16) It’s not enough to say you read the Bible, you need to digest it. It has to mean something to you. How can you be delighted if you don’t let it sink in?

Once you have the word in your system, so to speak, the Holy Spirit can begin using it to transform you. Those scriptures will come to mind when you need them. You can declare them for promises in your life. You will feel conviction to repent in areas you need to and rejoice in the blessings. The word of God should be your daily delight

Living Without Peace Is Wrong

Peace is your to have.

Peace is yours in the Holy Spirit.

If you are living without peace, then something is wrong. As children of God, peace is an aspect of our salvation that comes free in the Holy Spirit. It is central to God’s nature, so when we receive Him, we also get His great peace.

If you are struggling with problems that rob your peace, then give them to Jesus. Are you fearful? Confess your fear. Are you frustrated, angry, overworked? Confess every area that you have not given to Jesus and hand it all over to Him. He said He would carry our load and make it easy for us.

Lack of peace is a flashing red light that you life is not in alignment with God. Just fix it. Let go of fear, anger, depression. Ask God for forgive you for holding onto them. Ask Him to fill you with His peace. If you do not have the Holy Spirit in your life, then ask for Him immediately. You will not find His peace otherwise.

Regardless how busy or complicated your life is, peace is always available. When you put your life completely in Jesus’ hands, He helps you manage what you should and let go of what you shouldn’t. Peace is yours for keeping. Take hold of it and never let it go.

Self-Control Is A Free Gift

Self-control is a free gift from God.

There is freedom from addictions in the Holy Spirit.

Do you struggle with habits you don’t want? You know what they are. Some things are fine in moderation, but maybe you don’t keep moderate. Maybe you go way beyond what is safe and healthy. Maybe it’s a habit that is in no way healthy mentally, physically, or emotionally. God has already provided a way to help.

One of the fruits of the Spirit is self-control. It is the power to control yourself without needing others to shame or control you. Self help is a billion dollar industry, but you have the means to d do what is right for you in the Holy Spirit.

That’s the key–you must be filled with the Holy Spirit. If you are not, ask God to fill you now. Keep asking until you are. If you are filled and you still struggle, then you haven’t allowed Him to change you. Declare the fruits of the Spirit in your life. They are all yours. Declare that you have self-control, because, if you have His Spirit, you do have it.

Addictions can be  broken. They are a spirit to be renounced and confessed. Repent and ask for God to fill you and release His presence in your life. It is the beginning of a strong and healthy future.

Time For More Miracles

Miracles just take faith.

Trust God for impossible things.

Walking on water, calling down fire, moving mountains are all pretty amazing. Jesus said that we will do greater works than He did. (Jhn 14:12) So why don’t we?

Deception and fear are huge hindrances to seeing miracles. The enemy works very hard to make us believe that it’s not going to happen. What if we step out and it fail? We will look foolish. There it is–pride, fear that our pride will be injured.

The miracles we read about in the Bible were not for entertainment. You never read about the disciples sitting around at night making the lamp go on and off for laughs. The miracles were always to point to God and fill a need.

Don’t let this present age get in the way of seeing what God can really do when it needs to be done. Maybe walking on water is exactly what you need to do at some point. Any miracle requires full faith that God is on the other end. He wants to see your faith blessed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, so He’s still in the miracle business.

Let God be God and step out when you see Him leading there. Trust Him. He’s got your back and it’s going to be fun.
