Are You Broken?

Give your broken life to Jesus and He'll give you a new one.

God is never far from you.

Sometimes life can shatter us in ways that seem unfair and unexpected. We can be blindsided from areas that we trusted, which makes the devastation so much greater. We can be lost in hopelessness to the point of wishing for any easy end to the pain.

Don’t despair. Don’t give in. There are some truths that you must hold onto, even if you can’t feel them to be true. God is always good. God is always with you. Your situation may make you feel that God is not good and you are totally alone, but that’s not true at all.

Take a deep breath. Call out to Jesus. Give Him everything–every last bit. He wants to take it all from you. Ask Him to help you let go off all the issues that hurt you. Ask Him to fill you with His peace and provision.

The battle has already been won on the cross. Jesus paid the price for you to be set free from assault of any kind. All you have to do is reach out to Him and ask for His help. Do not go on another day on your own. Jesus is with you and loves you wildly. Your broken life can be made new today.

Jesus Is Our Real King Of Kings

Jesus is the One called Faithful and True.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True. (Rev 19:11). That is our King of Kings, our King who is called Faithful and True. We love our fairytales because of the prince who comes to rescue and bring safety, but Jesus is real. King of King, Prince of Peace, Emmanuel.

Faithful and True is the One who made us righteous so we could live in blessing and grace. Faithful and True is the One who loves us so completely that He sacrificed Himself to cover our sin. He will never leave us or forsake us. His love is eternal and transforming.

Sometimes I have to stop and contemplate the reality of Jesus. When I look around at my day to day world, it seems incredible that the heavens will open up and the One on the white horse will come to us. It will be the great and terrible day, but I belong to Him and He is mine. It is a day that will thrill my heart because we will see Him in His majesty.

My King who is Faithful and True has wooed me into His kingdom and I will never leave.

Do You Love Like You Did Before?

Jesus has to be your first love.

Find your first love.

Can you remember your first love in Christ? Did it fill you with joy and giddy emotion? New love makes us almost blind to anything else. The object of our love fills our hearts and mind. But then it cools, and over time it can grow cold.

We can say it hasn’t happened, but if we compare where we are today with what it was in the beginning, there’s probably a bit difference. Maybe there have been disappointments. Maybe we got sidetracked into believing something that wasn’t true.

Jesus said to repent and do the first works. (Rev 2:5) What were those first works? Prayer? Praise?  Work that you did for others? Backup and start over. Repent for growing cold and pick up where Jesus was Lord in your life. That means He is more important to you than anything.

Go back and read the gospels and remind yourself of who He is. Be filled with His wisdom and understanding. Allow your heart to sing again. It’s dangerous to confess salvation without love.

Over time, as you reunite with your love  for Him and continue in it, it will deepen and mature. You begin to understand more of His ways and His blessing. Find your love in Jesus and never, never let it go.

God Already Loves You Completely

God can't love you more than He does.

You can’t earn God’s love.

Do you really understand that God loves you regardless of what you do? He loves you when you mess up and He loves you when you are intentionally bad. There is nothing that you can do to make Him not love you.

It’s hard to fully comprehend how much God loves us. He loves serial killers.Yep. He’s grieved by what they do, but if they turn to Him, they have a future and a hope that has always been theirs. We are all made to have fellowship with Him regardless of the decisions that we make.

God will not love you more if you are good. He loves you as much when you are good as when you are bad–which is complete and beyond understanding. That means that you don’t have to perform for Him. You can’t turn perfect love into more perfect love.

God’s love does not make you feel guilty. Jesus didn’t die on the cross to make you feel guilty. He died so you could be perfect in Him and live in His joy. How should you respond to that? The correct answer is–with all your heart.

Let go of any idea that you have to be perfect to be loved. It’s just not true. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The Power of God Changes Lives

The Power of God Delivers

The power of God changes lives.

When Jesus met the demon possessed man of the Gadarenes, the man was changed, radically. He went from being naked and out of his mind to sane and clothed. He was so grateful for what Jesus did that he begged to go with Him. The power of God changed a man to his very core.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8) Never doubt that He has the same power to heal and deliver today. The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you. (Rom 8:11) You have it within you to do what Jesus did.

Just because you don’t see other people releasing the power of God doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It just means that people around you lack faith. Imagine being used to save someone who needs help. The Spirit of God can use you to touch and transform lives. All you have to do is submit yourself into His hands and let Him do the work. It’s not about you anyway.

When you see a need, ask the Holy Spirit to work through you. He can heal, break bondage, and bless. The power of God is the same today as it was when Jesus spoke to the Gadarene man, and it always will be.

How to Wear Your Armor of God

I remember being in a church once where we were told to get up every morning and more or less pretend to put on our armor. Pull on the helmet, the breastplate, etc. By doing that, you should be protected for your day. I’m sorry, but I think that’s silly. Continue reading
