Why Does God Like To Hide Things?

God wants us to discover His hidden treasures.

God wants us to discover His hidden treasures.

I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that yo may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel. (Isa 45:3)

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid, and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Mat 13:44)

I think He’s serious about this. There’s stuff that God has hidden from us. I don’t think He’s being malicious about it. He’s not teasing us that there are things we can’t see. But He is teasing us in a way. He wants to see who will go after it.

You don’t find things God has hidden casually. You have to be intentional. You have to want it find them. That’s the heart that God is interested in. Who wants more of God? Who wants to find the hidden treasures of darkness and hidden riches in secret places? If they come from God, they are going to be more than awesome.

You’d better get on board with this, because if you don’t, I’m going to get all of them. I’m not at all shy about pressing into everything that He has for me. How about you?

Does God Care If You Do Well In Business?

God wants to help you profit.

God wants to help you profit.

Does God care if you do well in business? Many would say no. But they may be the same people who think that God lives in church and not at home or the office. Sound silly? Too many people think that it’s selfish to ask God for personal things–things you need or things you like. As if they aren’t holy or “religious”. But God loves to bless you in what you do, and the less “religious” the better.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. (Isa 48:17) Doesn’t that sound like God is interested in leading you in business? He actually wants to see you prosper, to profit. And if you listen to Him, He gives this promise: your peace would be like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. (Isa 48:18)

There is great blessing in allowing God to lead you in all your ways. He wants to bless your business, and He wants to bless your whole life. He wants you to live in the river of peace. Don’t waste another second. Turn to Him and ask for His help. He’s waiting.

Jesus Is The Name Above All Names

Jesus is the name above all names

Jesus is the name above all names

There is no other name as wonderful as Jesus. Our life and hope come from Him. All authority and power comes from Him. In the name of Jesus, every knee must bow. No one at any time has ever had preeminence over Him. The name of Jesus should be precious to us.

In this world of religious tolerance, we are pressured into believing that all beliefs are equal. Though we should not disparage other religions, neither should we accept them as truth. Only Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Every other path is a counterfeit. They may proclaim peace and morality, but only Jesus can lead to the one true God.

Don’t feel pressured into accepting other faiths as true to please the status quo. You are responsible for your own faith. Find the truth.  If it’s not in Jesus, then you haven’t found it yet. Jesus made a way to Father through His sacrifice. There is no other way. Any path without Jesus leads to death. It’s terrible to think about, but true.

The name of Jesus is the name above all names because of who He is and what He did for us. In His name was have life and the power to dispel the works of the enemy. Jesus is the name we all need.

Be Faithful With What You’ve Been Given As You Wait For Breakthrough

Bloom where you've been planted.

Bloom where you’ve been planted.

It’s sad that very few people feel fulfilled in their work. Part of that is because not everyone is brave enough to dream big and trust God. There’s another group that is trusting God and still waiting to see breakthrough. I understand. It can feel an awful lot like Joseph working diligently in prison for all those years waiting to be released.

You know what got Joseph out of prison? His faithfulness while he was still in there. He didn’t give up when he was thrown in with criminals. He kept his integrity and honor. He was faithful in the small things and God blessed him for that.

No matter what you have to do for your job, or your position in life, don’t be discouraged as you wait for what you’ve asked God for. Be faithful. Bless those you work with. Go the extra mile. Be the one everyone talks about being so amazing. Pray everyday that God be with you with wisdom and understanding so you do your work with excellence.

You’ve been planted in that place for a reason. Blossom and grow where you been planted. When the time is right, God will transplant you somewhere new. Until then, be faithful and full of grace. As God shapes you, you are effecting everyone around you.

The Holy Spirit Is Here To Help, You’ll Love It

The Holy Spirit is here to help.

The Holy Spirit is here to help.

When the Holy Spirit calls Himself our Helper, He means it. I don’t know why we assume that so much of what God says is just FYI, as if we don’t really need it. It would be amazing if we took God at His word. The Holy Spirit really is our helper, and connecting with that help will get you through the day on a whole different level.

First, you have to know that you have the Holy Spirit in your life. That comes when you ask Jesus into your heart. There is a baptism, or in-filling of the Holy Spirit to activate His presence. (Acts 8:15-17) Ask God for it, and be very persistent about it.

When you pray, quiet your spirit and listen for God to talk back. I guarantee that He wants to talk to you. Once you know that you hear Him, pay attention to what that feels like. When He speaks to you during your day, you’ll recognize that feeling and pay attention to it.

That feeling came to me today while working on an important project at work. I thought I was done, but I felt the Holy Spirit tugging at me. Something wasn’t right. I went back and checked again, and He was right! I was so grateful for that check.

Get connected with the Holy Spirit. He’s there to help.

It’s Not Selfish To Dream Big, It’s Your Right

It's ok to dream big, you belong to God.

It’s ok to dream big, you belong to God.

Historically, the church believed that poverty was godly. That sacrifice and hardship were honorable and personal gain was sinful. As with everything, the extremes are always suspect. Jesus warned that it was harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. (Mat 19:24)

But God also loves to bless. Give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. (Luke 6:38) God is extravagant. He’s not worried about how much He blesses. When Joseph was found faithful in prison, God made him ruler over a nation.

It’s the enemy who wants us to be doubtful of blessing, to make us feel that we don’t deserve it. He would love to keep us in a poverty mentality when God wants to bless and increase the kingdom. You were not made for small dreams. We are our Father’s children, and He is not small God.

We have been adopted as sons (and daughters) by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. (Eph 1:5) Sons and daughters of the King of Kings, of God, whose amazing love for us made a plan of salvation from the beginning of time so we could live with Him forever. He is not a Father with strict limits on blessing. We’re not bound to so much and no more. That is earthly thinking.

No, our Father is gracious and generous. He is a Father who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Eph 1:3) Think about that. What must the blessings of heaven be like? Everything in heaven is perfect in His presence. His blessings are unlimited. And they are all ours.

It’s ok to ask for this blessing that belongs to us. It’s ok to ask for big dreams because they belong to us as heirs of Christ. Does doubt fly up when you dare to consider this? Where do you think that comes from? Yes, some have perverted the message of abundance, but don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. God is still good and His will is to love you wildly and extravagantly.

Will you receive it? Will you dare to give your dreams to God and let Him breathe on them? If you let Him, He’ll make them so much more than you asked, because He loves you.  He loves you so very much.

Never Let Go Of Your Joy, No Way, No How

Never let go of your joy.

Never let go of your joy.

Never lose your joy. Never lose your excitement and wonder of the things God does for you. Joy isn’t something to be blessed with on special occasions. Joy is for everyday life. It is the kingdom of God–righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Rom 14:17)

The enemy wants to rob you of joy above all things. If he can get you to lay down your joy, then you start looking at your problems and not God. Then you are no threat to him. But when you keep your focus on God and all His goodness, you can hold onto joy because you are filled with His peace.

Living in the kingdom should be joyful. On earth as it is in heaven. There is no discouragement in heaven. Heaven is filled with the presence of God, and He is the source of all joy. That’s how we should live here.

Take back your joy. Hand over everything that is bothering you to Jesus. He said He was here to help. There’s enormous relief in realizing that. You can relax when you know that everything is in God’s hands. Joy is easy to have when you’re not stressed, and stress should never run your life. If it is, your priorities are in the wrong place.

Find your joy and keep it. Forever!

When Everything Falls Apart, Give It To Jesus

When things fall apart, let Jesus help.

When things fall apart, let Jesus help.

Do your best plans seem to be falling apart? Does everything you touch collapse before your eyes, despite careful planning? Do you feel discouraged when that happens? Stop for a second and remember that discouragement does not come from God. Anything that makes you feel bad is from the enemy.

If you can rise above the bad feelings when things fall apart, you may see that the enemy is terrified of what you are about to do. He will throw a wrench into the works any time he sees God about to move or bless.

Laugh in the enemy’s face, because you have God on your side. Give it all over to Jesus. He said He would carry the load for you. He said to trust in Him first and He’ll work out all the rest.  God can fix anything, even when we screw it up ourselves.

That’s the great wonder of living in the kingdom. We have God with us to bless us and help us through everyday. Stop worrying about tomorrow and give God today to bless. Put your trust in Him and He will work it out. He’s the best.

God Knows Just How To Test Your Willingness To Obey

Can you be faithful, no matter what?

Can you be faithful, no matter what?

It seems that God doesn’t mind making us a little crazy just to see if we will trust Him. He said to go dip in the river seven times, go back again and see if there’s a cloud yet, go show yourself to the priests. I think He knows what will push our buttons and make us balk at what He says to do. If it really doesn’t make sense to do, will we do it out of obedience anyway?

It’s called faith. Faith is believing outside of what we know, no matter how silly or strange. When we recognize the voice of God, we are responsible for obeying. We get hung up when we don’t understand what or why He asks what He does, so we may refuse to do it.

We have to get over looking foolish. We just don’t see the reasons why. If we did, we’d gladly do what ever it is we’re hesitant to do. So why do we have to know? It’s just human nature I guess, but we have to get over it.

If we can be obedient when God speaks, He can trust us to do great things in the kingdom. Faith will follow Him where our eyes will not.

God Will Perfect The Plans He Has For You

God will perfect the the things that matter to us.

God will perfect the the things that matter to us.

We may not always know what we’re doing, but it’s good to know that God does. Some people are seriously organized and focused from an early age. Other people wander through life without any seeming direction. God knows that. He knows everyone and how they are wired and He has a plan and a destiny for each one.

It’s difficult to imagine how God can track all of us at the same time, but He’s God. He’s not human and limited as we are. He knows what you want and how to get you there. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. (Ps 138:8) He will perfect His plans for us, if we let Him.

Yes, you can work against God and never see the good things in store for you. But if you follow His lead, He’ll make a way to bless the skills and talents that you have and use you in ways that you would love. It’s all in the relationship we have in Him. As we love Him and give Him our heart, He blesses and works things out for us.

He will perfect the things that matter to us. He can do what we cannot. He takes what we have and adds blessing to it. He is amazing.
